Class B: • The lamella must be uniform in colour, from light brown to yellow-brown slight differences in shade are permissible. • Healthy knots up to 25 mm in diameter permissible, a maximum of 3 per lamella. • Dark, healthy, fused knots up to 15 mm in diameter permissible, a maximum of 3 per lamella. • Tobacco knots and knot holes up to 10 mm in diameter permissible, a maximum of 3 per lamella. • Sapwood not permitted. • Mould and rot not permitted. Class C: • Slight differences in shade and contrast are permissible. • Healthy, light knots up to 50 mm in diameter permissible. • Dark, rotten, loose knots and knot holes up to 30 mm in diameter are permissible, a maximum of 3 per lamella. • Sap wood is permissible up to 50 mm across the lamella width. • Mold and rot are not permitted. • Head cracks and pith cracks are not permitted. Sap (sapwood) class: • Slight color differences are permissible. • Healthy (live) knots up to 15 mm in diameter are permissible. • Tobacco knots and knot holes up to 4 mm in diameter are permissible. • Healthy sap wood is permissible without restrictions. General requirements: • Significant color differences and distinct color spots are not permitted. • Poor cutting is not permitted. • Surface cracks are not permitted. • Cracks of any kind are not permitted. • Ends must be cut evenly (perpendicular). • Wane, insect holes, and rot are not permitted. • Fused bark is not permitted. • Knots located 3–6 mm from the edge are not permitted. • Knots located closer than 6 mm from the end are not permitted. • No other defects are permitted. Packaging: • One package may contain only one dimension and one quality class. • The material must be stacked on pallets the maximum pallet height is 1100 mm. • The material must be wrapped in polyethylene foil and tightened with plastic tape plastic corners must protect the edges.
