Company HEFAJSTOS was formed in 1964. Initially, it operated as a small blacksmith workshop dealing with production of manual tools such as chisels for sculptors and keys for barrels but as time passed, manual scissors started to be produced for cutting wires and sheets, further to other tools. Systematic expansion of the company and machine park extension resulted in increasing the scope of activity and, ultimately, in October of 1980 the company was transformed into private partnership. The company has operated in this setup until today, improving its technical back office, expanding production capacity through, among others, improving the machine park, obtaining new, more demanding clients and gaining new experiences.
Currently, the company is involved in production of small tools - machinist`s hammers between 100 and 1500 g, table scissors for cutting sheets, pullers for bearings in the scope of diameters from 60 to 800 mm
The second branch of company activity is the production of steel structures. The company mostly produces structures for the rail and tram infrastructure - elements of the steering system housing for railway turnouts or tram turnouts - apart from this, boxes for tram turnout heating systems as well as various minor elements
In order to produce the above tools and structures, the company has the following machine park at its disposal:
- Hydraulic bending brakes with pressure of 160 t and bending length of 3000 mm as well as 250 t and bending length of 4000 mm;
- Hydraulic guillotine shears - 2 pieces - up to 6mm of thickness and 2000 mm cut and 1 pair of scissors up to 15 mm in thickness and 3000 mm cut
- plasma-gas cutter with operating area of 2000 x 6000 mm and thickness of the oxy-cut material 100 mm and plasma 30 mm;
- 10 straight-side eccentric presses and hydraulic presses - max. pressure 250 t; max dimensions of the working table 1200 x 800 mm;
- Conventional milling machines 3 items, the largest working table with dimensions 1400 x 400 mm and weight of the processed element of 1000 kg;
- box column drills, pedestal drills, table drills and radial drills with max diameter of drilling - 50 mm
- CNS turning machines with max. diameter of turning 200 mm and length of 400 mm
- Bevelling machine with a disc cutter with maximum thickness of the sheet of 40 mm
- 7 Mig/Mag welding stations
- Shot blasting plant with a closed abrasive circuit and with dimensions of 8x4x3m - hard, sharp-edged cast steel shot used as abrasive
- Painting plant for spray painting with dimensions 15x6x5m with a standing jib 3 t.
