Architectural Specifications
Work Surfaces shall be a 5/8" nominal (15mm), 3/4" nominal (19mm), or 1" nominal (25mm) thick. Worksurfaces shall be monolithic and molded from a modified epoxy resin, with a uniform mixture throughout the top forming a thermosetting material. Worksurfaces shall have a smooth, non-glare finish. Flat worksurfaces shall have a continuous drip groove where indicated. All exposed edges will be finished with an 1/8" (3mm) bevel or a 3/16" (4.7mm) radius. Worksurfaces will be provided in practical lengths to minimize joints.
Backsplashes shall be of the same material, thickness, and finish as the work surface. Backsplashes are to be supplied loose for field application to assure proper fit to the walls.
Undermount sinks shall be molded from the same material as the worksurfaces. All sinks shall be molded in one piece with corners coved and the bottom sloped to the outlet. Sinks shall be selected from DURCON standard sizes.
The following accessories are available upon request: SO-3R 1-1/2" (38mm) outlet, OE-R overflow, and SS-2R stopper should be included for each sink. Sinks, outlets, and stoppers are to be supplied loose for field applications.
Lipped Sinks shall be molded from the same material as the worksurfaces. All sinks shall be molded in one piece with corners coved and the bottom sloped to the outlet. The lipped sink shall be placed in a rabbet cutout that sets it 1/8" below the worksurface and a 45 degree slope from the top of the worksurface to the top of the sink. The joint between top and sink should be a 1/32" nominal width. Sinks shall be selected from DURCON standard sizes.

Fume Hood Tops shall be selected from DURCON standard sizes. Fume hood tops shall be dished a minimum of 1/4" to contain spills. Fume hood tops shall be molded from the same material as the work surfaces.
Color of work surfaces, sinks, accessories and fume hood tops shall be black, grey, or white.
