It all started in 1910. Following an initiative by Andrzej Kaczmarek, a Berlin industrialist of Polish origin, a small dry cell factory was established in Berlin. Immediately after Poland regained independence, in January 1919, Andrzej Kaczmarek moved the operation to Poznań. Here, the company continued to trade as "The First Cell and Battery Factory of Poznań" (Pierwsza Poznańska Fabryka Elementów i Bateryj) until 1925.
